Microsoft
Subway
signage

The visual style of the Windows 8 operating system, called Metro, was inspired by Massimo Vignelli's iconic NYC subway signage and graphic standards. The Microsoft UX design principles, set in the corporate typeface, Segoe, greet people as they walk the main halls of our building. The signs point to one another to show that the design principles work in sync together.

As an accompaniment to the subway signs, this poster series is a cohesive set that brings forth the Microsoft UX Design principles in a fun way.

ROLE

Reporting directly to the Windows Design Partner Director, I researched, designed, selected materials, and sourced fabricators to create the 5 aluminum signs.

For the poster series, I created the concept and designs.

A set of five individual posters illustrate that the five design principles work together as one.
